A Safe Place to Call Home

Safe housing isn't a luxury, but unfortunately for many of IDADEE's neighbors in Cap-Haitien, it's out of reach. IDADEE is working to change that.

Right now, many families live in houses made of sticks and mud. When it rains, roofs leak, and families catch the water in containers or cover themselves with plastic bags. Cracks and gaps in the walls allow snakes and rats inside. A father of five we spoke with shared that, “having a new house would make our children safe and happy."

IDADEE has identified 70 homes that desperately need replacement. In partnership with Food For The Poor, we are building brand-new, safe homes so families can live with dignity and security. All 22 homes in phase one are under construction; some are very close to completion, and construction is on schedule to be complete later this fall.
