Camps

Together For Good Day 2

We turned the camera on our staff this year to share about PKF Camps. Our team is a motley group of college and high school students; many have had their lives changed at Surf City or Laurelville Mud Weekends. Together, our team spends countless hours creating highly intentional environments where leaders and campers make memories and open up about life and faith.

In many ways, working at camp is an act of service. The days are long, and the games we play are pretty (okay, incredibly) messy. Anyone who’s worked at camp will tell you it’s a marathon, not a sprint. But serving at camp is also a blessing. We spend those countless hours in a Christ-centered community. We do daily Bible studies with our peers. We learn, grow, and develop our God-given skills doing this kingdom work called “camp.”

In this way, our staff serves at camp, but camp gives back infinitely more to our staff. Look for this dynamic as you hear some of our team members share their experiences working at camp. And when you’re done, check out our tech team’s handiwork by watching the Surf City highlight video.

Fast Facts

  • We operate three unique camp experiences. Surf City is a week-long summer camp, Laurelville Mud Weekends are weekend-long fall retreats, and Spring Session is a one-day event!

  • We host over 1,700 campers and leaders every year!

  • We’re celebrating 60 years of Laurelville Mud Weekends this fall, and in 2025, we’ll celebrate 40 years of Surf City! A conservative estimate is that 80,000 kids have learned about the love of Jesus at a PKF Camp.
