Langston Lacroix is a first generation Haitian American. Both of his parents moved here from Haiti. His dad first arrived in 1969 and seven years later, in 1976, his mom arrived. Langston was born and raised in New Jersey, where he focused on pursuing an athletic career. He went on to play NCAA Division I football at Fordham University, also earning his degree. It was at Fordham that Langston met his wife Sara.

Shortly after graduation, Langston moved to Pittsburgh and took his first job in a steel foundry, McConway & Torley. There he operated the heavy mobile equipment. He eventually became the Logistics Coordinator of the plant’s West Yard, until he left in 2018 to accept a position at Precision Abrasives, an industry leading distributor to primary metal producers. At Precision, Langston manages the inside sales force and the inventory. He is the primary liaison between customers and suppliers, taking care of all customer needs. Langston also handles outside technical sales support with several tristate customers. Langston has recently been made a partner at Precision Abrasives.

Sara is the administrative assistant for Precision Abrasives, a nationwide, industry-leading abrasive distributor for primary metals. Sara plays many roles at Precision, but her greatest role is having been recently made a partner of the company.  She handles the payroll, accounting, book keeping, and all legal matters for the company.  Sara has proudly just begun her 10th year with the company.

Before a career ending injury, Sara was a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher, trained at Pittsburgh’s Creative and Performing Arts, Point Park University, and most importantly the Alvin Ailey School in New York City. There she focused primarily on West African, modern, liturgical, and hip hop. Sara has performed with Pittsburgh Dance Ensemble, August Wilson Dance Ensemble, Footprints Dance Company in NYC, and Ciudad de la Danza in Burgos, Spain. She had the privilege of experiencing the international dance festivals in Europe and the skill of music video choreography in Los Angeles. Sara loved teaching kids about the disciplines of dance, primary at The Ailey School, American Ballet Theater, and The Pittsburgh Project.

One of her most rewarding dance experiences was teaching dance to the children in Haiti for the very first Surf City Haiti in 2011.  Haiti instantly became a part of Sara.  She returned a few times shortly after, working with the founding seven children at IDADEE orphanage and doing door-to-door evangelizing in the outskirts of Cap-Haïtien.

Sara grew up immersed in student ministries, as her parents, Lou and Kristin Divers, worked with the student programs at Orchard Hill Church alongside Brad and Beth Henderson. She is filled with incredible memories as a camper at Surf City and Laurelville, where she learned the power of Jesus. So it is a real privilege to her to come full circle as a member of the board with her husband, Langston.

Langston and Sara live in Bradfordwoods, PA with their three children, DeLuna, Cora, and Malakai. They are members at Allegheny Center Alliance Church. Sara is also involved with Bible Study Fellowship. She enjoys working as a photographer in her spare time.
