Adam Wicks

Adam Wicks is an Attorney at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC and works in the firm’s Corporate Finance Section out of the Pittsburgh office. He is a graduate of Boston College Law School.

He first began his career with Buchanan as a 2013 Summer Associate in the Pittsburgh office. During his time as a summer associate, Adam researched legal issues underlying transactions in the energy, healthcare, banking and technology industries and assisted with closings of large corporate transactions. Adam has experience drafting litigation documents and other memoranda, and participates in a number of the firm’s pro bono efforts. 

As a law student, Adam worked as a student attorney at the Boston College Legal Assistance Bureau. Working in the bureau’s corporate department, Adam drafted merchant agreements, filed Federal Trademark applications and analyzed interstate commerce issues for a Boston-based start-up. Additionally, Adam counseled non-profit clients on labor, accounting, tax and real estate matters, while drafting and submitting an IRS Form 1023 Application for Recognition of Tax Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) on behalf of a Boston-based non-profit. 

He also worked as a summer associate at a sports agency in Boston, where he assisted MLBPA Certified Agents in their day-to-day client representation responsibilities, including contract negotiations, player research and scouting, corporate endorsements, public relations and multimedia production. 

Prior to his work in Boston, Adam was the media communications intern and program director for the Pittsburgh Kids Foundation. At the foundation he served as operations director of all summer programming during the summer of 2010 and coordinated weekly philanthropic programs at various locations in the Pittsburgh area.

Adam has been affiliated with the Pittsburgh Kids Foundation in various capacities, since 2004.  He grew up attending various PKF camps, was part of the team that put together the first Surf City Haiti, and has run on Team PKF a few times in Pittsburgh Marathon events, including this year’s marathon.  He grew up in the South Hills and currently lives in the East End of Pittsburgh.  He is also an avid golfer and softball player.
